This is my first draft for my poster
Primary audience for our movie is from 15 - 25 year olds this is because anyone under the age of 15 would not understand or get the real effect of the scene and anyone above that age group would fail to see the use in which the action occured in.
The first moment i am choosing from my sequence is the dragging of Raffie this is a good piece to show/pick as it appears to the younger side of the age group this is due to the fact it would match really nicely and keep peoples intensity high. This is good for 15 - 18 year olds especially due to the fact they probably have not played much poker thus highlighting who had the bad hand.
The second moment that matches the younger age group chosen is the revealing of mikes face the baddie. This is good as most people this age group would hate to be left on a cliff hanger. The third moment is when the first hand is being served and Susanna sees she has a trip ace meaning she cannot have the lowest deck showing she is safe means ac sense if relief as many where showing her as nervous but in fact was not going to die. The fourth point is the part in the sequence where there is a eye line match between Steven and becky showing some level of rivalry and competitors. The fifth point in the sequence is the continuation of the game this is due to the fact that the audience would then be engaged into a deeper sense of mikes power or influence as after killing one the other had to continue. The last point I would use would be the introduction to the characters this is because nowadays every teenager loves the basic story or at least a character introduction within their faces emotions, movement and dress style telling a lot about the situation.
Step 3:
I think we were successful at engaging our audience within our title sequence as their was a lot of suspense and unexplained things concluding to a cliff hanger. I think the main thing we could have improved on was the clarity that Steven was going to win we didnt do this as on the day we didnt have enough time to do so, but also the film would not have had been able to have an opening sequence due to the 2 minutes restriction. Although saying this we did manage to engage our audience in many different peices throughout the sequence such as the subtle intro to all our protagonists.
Step 4: done
Step 5:
The moments that engage the audience is the use of the ace king combo as that could hint towards the winning hands later, also engage the audience with the black ands white as it has a mysterious / strange scary feeling. Another price that hints towards the engagement of the poster is the use of dark or ominous writing and positioning within the page to show the power. And the other colours on the text is to bring your attention to the title also because its big it sticks out meaning people will remember it.
Step 6:
Step 7:
A media company in which would work well with my movie is Warner bros this is due to the fact the movies they usually make are thrillers or actions meaning this would fit perfectly and their movies are 15s meaning it suits yet again. This would also suit their other movies as ours is quite dark and they recreate things such as the ‘joker’ which was nominated to be a dark movie. Warner bros would also work as it is slightly different to the normal movie as their isn’t Marty mysteries, only a few like fantastic beasts 1 and 2, but other than that nothing else.
Step 8:
Our marketing campaign would be handled easily by warner brothers as they have a high status in movies theatres and media, they could hold the movie within a film 4 or bbc film festival so thousands see it at once and leave their feedback, the posters and trailers by them would be skilled too thus showing the process would be easy for them. There would also be a delay of a mount to stream it as there would be deals with the festivals and cinemas meaning the demand would increase massively. Would alsop be on some of the big boi streaming saver vices such as Apple TV and amazon as millions would look at it this meaning high viewer count meaning popularity increasing and or the viewer count go up.
